Patna, Feb 16 () Police in Bihar’s Vaishali district on Monday raided two hotels, rescued three women, arrested three accused, and detained a minor.
In Vaishali district, police on Monday raided two hotels and rescued three women and arrested three accused, while a minor was detained. According to the police, Abhishek was at Vaishali Hotel and The Royal Cafe and Restaurant, which are located in Kharauna Pokhar under Vaishali police station area. It was allegedly being used for physical exploitation by the hotel owner and management for profit.
On receiving the information, a special team was formed under the leadership of SDPO Sadar-02 (Lalganj), which included station in-charge of Vaishali police station, circle officer of Lalganj and women police personnel. Three women were rescued during the raid.
Police arrested the accused Neeraj Kumar, Mukesh Sahni (both residents of Vaishali district), and Mahesh Mahato (resident of Saran district). Also a minor was detained. Five mobile phones, Rs 2,040 in cash, three receipts, a register and a watch were recovered from the spot. A case has been registered in Vaishali police station in this matter and legal action is underway.
In a separate action, Rohtas police raided the red-light area of Bikramganj, creating panic in the area.
Police said that women were seen dancing and singing in Dhanjai village. Six people were detained during the investigation, including four women belonging to the orchestra. All the detained women are adults and attend orchestra performances at social events such as weddings.
Bikramganj SDPO Sindhu Shekhar Singh said that this action is part of regular police operation and further investigation is going on.
