New Delhi, February 23 (IANS). Union ministers on Monday lauded the central government’s initiative to incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the education system. He said the government is working towards comprehensive reforms inspired by Indian philosophy and national priorities.
Speaking to the media in the national capital, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that India’s education system is gradually moving towards the use of AI in various fields.
He informed that an app for teachers was developed in collaboration with Bharti Airtel Foundation, which was inaugurated in November 2024.
The Union Minister said, “Nowadays India’s education system is moving towards AI at many levels. Recently, an app for teachers was created in collaboration with Bharti Airtel Foundation, which was inaugurated in November 2024.”
He further said that now a new version of this app has also been launched in collaboration with CK-12 Foundation, which will further strengthen the digital learning tools for teachers.
Pradhan said that such initiatives are in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which emphasizes on modernizing education keeping Indian values at the center.
Referring to a program organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan, he said that the Prime Minister has called for freeing the country from colonial thinking by 2035.
The Education Minister said that he is implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) in line with the vision of the Prime Minister, so that India’s education system reflects its own identity and heritage.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, while talking to news agency IANS, said that in every speech of his – be it Parliament, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ or any public program – the Prime Minister gives top priority to national security.
“This reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the country,” he said.
Meghwal also mentioned a seminar in which the ‘Integral Human Philosophy’ given by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay and its relevance in today’s AI-based era was discussed.
He said the main topic of discussion was how Indian philosophical ideas can guide the ethical and balanced use of modern technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence.
