Along with this, many big events to be held in Dubai have also been postponed for the time being, due to which the plans of Indians and tourists living there have been affected.
What is the update regarding flights and travel?
Keeping security in mind, the UAE Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) decided to partially close the airspace. Due to this, flight operations at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC) have been stopped. Big airlines like Emirates, flydubai and Air India have canceled or diverted their flights. Passengers have been advised to check the status of their flight online before going to the airport to avoid problems.
What is the security situation and government instructions?
The UAE Defense Ministry has confirmed that they destroyed several missiles in the air to protect the country. One person is reported to have died due to debris in Abu Dhabi, who is said to be an Asian national. BAPS temple is closed due to security reasons and the final of Dubai Tennis Championship has also been postponed. The administration has issued strict instructions to residents and tourists to stay indoors and not go near any falling objects or debris.
