AI and data security controversy: There is panic from London to America, is your data also in danger?

There is turmoil in the world of Artificial Intelligence. On one hand, American AI company Anthropic has made serious allegations of data theft against Chinese companies, while on the other hand, preparations are going on for the trial of self-driving taxis in London. Meanwhile, French actors and filmmakers have expressed serious concerns about AI. He says that AI can be useful in some areas, but it can become a big threat for artists. This clearly shows that the faster the speed of AI, the more serious questions will arise.

Is AI stealing data?
American AI company Anthropic has claimed that some Chinese AI companies were trying to illegally exploit the capabilities of its cloud chatbot. According to the report, DeepSeek, Moonshot AI and Minimax are accused of copying the power of AI models through distillation technique. This approach uses the output of a stronger AI to rapidly train a weaker model. OpenAI has previously raised similar concerns with US lawmakers. If the allegations are proved, there could be a major legal battle over intellectual property in the AI sector.

Robotaxi is ready to hit the streets of London
The autonomous Ford Mustang Mach-E, built by British startup Wave Technologies, is doing a test run in London. This trial is taking place ahead of the UK government’s upcoming robotaxi pilot program. Big companies like Waymo and Baidu are also preparing to join this race. However, given London’s aging roads and heavy traffic, this technology faces particular challenges. The city’s old black cab drivers are skeptical about this technology. Steven McNamara, general secretary of the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association, which represents black cab drivers, says self-driving taxis are “solving a problem.”

French artist warned, called AI loot
According to an AFP report, just days before the French version of the Oscars, nearly 4,000 French actors and filmmakers have accused AI tools of cultural exploitation. It includes actors Swan Arlaud, Frank Dubosc and Elodie Bouchez.

An article published in Le Parisien just before the Cesar Awards (France’s national film awards), signed by nearly 4,000 artists, said that AI is a major threat to their profession. He expressed special concern over voice cloning without permission. He says that AI is useful in some areas, but it can become a big threat to artists. This controversy shows that AI has spread beyond technology and into the creative industry.
