Major security action was seen in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh and surrounding areas on Friday morning. The Saudi Ministry of Defense has confirmed that its air defense units intercepted and destroyed four drones over the Riyadh area. Apart from this, missile attacks have also been foiled in Al-Kharj. The good news is that there is no report of any damage during this period and all citizens are safe.

Defense Ministry told the entire incident
Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Turki Al-Maliki said that the enemies had tried to target Riyadh. The army, showing promptness, shot down three drones in the east of Riyadh area and the fourth in the north-east of the capital. Apart from this, three ballistic missiles fired towards Prince Sultan Air Base were also destroyed in the air.
The downing of a cruise missile east of Al-Kharj and a drone in Eastern Province has also been confirmed. The government has made it clear that every necessary step is being taken for the security of the country and the defense system is fully active.

In view of the security situation, Saudia and Flynas airlines have stopped their flights to cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Kuwait till 11:59 pm on Friday night. King Khalid International Airport (RUH) is currently operational, but passengers have been advised to check the status of their flights on WhatsApp or the website before going to the airport.
The Home Ministry has appealed to the common people not to panic if they hear the sound of siren or explosion and immediately take shelter in a safe place. At the same time, the US Embassy has also allowed its non-essential employees to leave the country.
