Patna, March 9 (). Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that now the time has come to make AI a strength. The government is continuously working to ensure that technology is included in our lives, sugarcane industry, agriculture and farming.
He claimed that in Bihar, which was said that industries cannot be set up here, nine to 10 sugar mills have been restarted during the NDA regime. During the Assembly elections 2025, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has promised to start 25 sugar mills in the next five years. Work in this direction has started only after the formation of the new government.
While addressing the Sugarcane Technology Seminar-2026 organized in Patna on Monday, Deputy Chief Minister Chaudhary said that complete development of farmers is possible only through technology-based agriculture. For this, a provision has been made to establish a Center of Excellence in the last budget itself and necessary funds have also been made available. It will be completed soon, this will enable the agriculture sector to directly benefit from modern technology.
Along with this, the Deputy Chief Minister also described the cultivation of cash crop as important for the prosperity of the farmers. He said that earlier there were a large number of sugar mills in Bihar, jaggery was also produced here on a large scale. But most of the mills were closed during the rule of Congress and RJD. Now, under the determination of Nitish Kumar and the guidance of Narendra Modi, they are being restarted. He said that a draft of Incentive Policy 2026 is also being prepared to encourage the sugar industry.
The aim of the government is to increase the income of farmers by promoting sugarcane farming and sugar industry and the workers of Bihar should get employment opportunities in the state itself. The government is trying to promote cash crops like sugarcane along with paddy so that the income of farmers increases. In many states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Haryana, farmers are making their lives happy by cultivating cash crops.
