A major alert has been issued in Bahrain amid regional tensions. Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior has sounded the national siren and ordered all citizens and expatriates to immediately move to the safest place in their vicinity. This emergency step has been taken due to drone and missile attacks. Flights have been stopped at Bahrain International Airport and schools will now run through online classes.

What is the current situation and loss figures?
Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) has informed that till March 11, they have destroyed 106 missiles and 177 drones in the air. In this attack, a young Bahraini woman died after being hit by drone debris. Apart from this, 32 civilians have been injured due to drone attack in Sitra area. Keeping security in mind, 13 out of 33 emergency shelters have been made operational, where more than 2600 people have been kept safe. Gulf Air has also canceled all its flights. Although the King Fahd Causeway connecting Saudi Arabia is currently open, it can be closed any time depending on the situation.
Strict rules issued for common people and migrants
The government has issued strict rules for the common people and Indian expatriates living there. It is strictly prohibited to gather crowd at the place of any incident or fire. Apart from this, there is a ban on making photos and videos of any military base, incident site or fallen debris. If you do so, strict legal action will be taken under Bahraini law. People have been urged to rely only on official channels and call 999 in case of an emergency. Hypermarkets are open for essential goods and there is no shortage of food and drinks.
