Dig. On the auspicious occasion of Rajasthan Day Utsav 2026 and New Year, the five-day (from March 15 to March 19) Panch Gaurav Mahotsav and One District One Product (ODOP) Exhibition was formally and grandly inaugurated at Nehru Park in Deeg on Sunday, March 15, 2026. This dignified district-level event was inaugurated by cutting the ribbon by Jawahar Singh Bedham, Minister of State for Home, Cow Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries, Government of Rajasthan and Dr. Shailesh Singh, MLA of Deeg-Kumher region.

Brief address of Minister of State for Home Bedham

After the inauguration ceremony, while addressing the media and the huge crowd present, Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham said that Rajasthan Day is going to be celebrated on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada on March 19. As per the wish of the Chief Minister of the state, Bhajan Lal Sharma, for the first time it has been decided to celebrate the establishment of Rajasthan as a festival by linking it with the new year. In this sequence, the new Samvatsar is starting from March 19 and five-day programs are being organized on this occasion. Yesterday these events started with the cleanliness campaign and today this huge exhibition is being organized to showcase the Panch Gaurav of Deeg district.
Bedham further clarified that the main objective of this Panch Gaurav exhibition is to provide a suitable platform to the working people of our district—laborers, artisans and manufacturers. We want to ensure that the excellent products manufactured by them are showcased to the masses and given full opportunity to grow. This five-day event will become a powerful medium to hone the cultural, industrial and sports talents of our district. He extended best wishes to all the people of the state on Rajasthan Day and appealed to the common people to participate enthusiastically in this festival.
Intensive inspection and guidelines of departmental stalls
After the inauguration, Minister of State for Home Bedham carefully inspected the various stalls set up by Tourism, Forest Department, Industry Department, Sports Department, Agriculture Department and Rajivika (Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Development Council) established under Panch Gaurav. He gave clear instructions to the officials of the Tourism Department that the historical and religious places of Deeg district, such as Seval Temple, Adibadrinath, Kedarnath and Vanvihari Temple etc. should be publicized on a wide scale, so that more and more devotees and tourists can become familiar with the rich heritage of the district. Bedham interacted with the wrestlers of Gaurav Wrestling of the district at the stall of the Sports Department. He took information about the equipment used in the game and while encouraging them, he distributed T-shirts to the wrestlers on the spot. While taking information about the percentage of oil in mustard at the stall of the Agriculture Department, he specially mentioned the progressive farmer Hukam Singh (Saint), who is extracting up to 44% oil from mustard. He directed the department to make other farmers aware by inviting such exemplary farmers to various seminars. At the stall of the Medical Department, he took information about the awareness camps being organized in Pahari, Kaman and Sikri for prevention of silicosis disease. At the marble idol making stall under ODOP, he advised the artisans to compulsorily use masks while making idols for health protection. The medicinal and environmental importance of Arjuna, a special botanical species of the district, was also displayed at the stall of the Forest Department.
Lakhpati Didi and example of women empowerment
A major attraction of the exhibition were the stalls run by the women of Rajivika. Women from Badangarh, Januthar, Sikri, Ambedkar Chowk Kaman and Pipalkheda (Hill) interacted with Minister of State for Home and Deeg-Kumher MLA Dr Shailesh Singh. The women shared their journey to financial independence, saying that they have successfully taken and repaid loans of Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 3 lakh respectively, and are now planning to take a loan of Rs 6 lakh to expand their business. Many women proudly told that they have now become Lakhpati Didi. While taking feedback on rural infrastructure, Bedham also discussed with the women about the ongoing road construction work in Januthar, on which they expressed satisfaction.
Observation and dialogue of MLA Dr. Shailesh Singh
In the function, MLA Deeg-Kumher, Dr. Shailesh Singh also did a detailed inspection of all the stalls. She especially gained in-depth information on handmade jewellery, marble products and honey stalls. When the women of Rajivika were asked about the sale of jewelery made by them, the women said that they are successfully selling their products through their shops, Amrita Haat and Raj Sakhi fairs. Dr. Singh also took information about sanitary pads manufactured organically by women and praised their environment-friendly and healthy efforts.
Promotion of women empowerment: Special appeal for purchasing handmade products
Through this exhibition, a special appeal is made to the mother power and common people of the district that attractive clothes, traditional jewelery and other excellent handicraft products hand-embroidered with great skill by the women associated with Rajivika are available for sale in Nehru Park. Any interested women of the city and district who want to buy these clothes and jewelery can come to these stalls located at Nehru Park till March 19 and purchase them. This indigenous purchase of yours will prove to be a major contribution in strengthening the economic self-reliance of these hardworking women and the Lakhpati Didi campaign.

Message and encouragement of environmental protection

Giving the message of environmental protection during the exhibition, Minister of State for Home Bedham and MLA Dr. Singh jointly planted saplings. After this, while encouraging the youth and the general public, both the guests also got themselves photographed at the special selfie point created at the venue. During this dignified district-level event, District Collector Utsav Kaushal, Additional District Collector Rajkumar Kaswan and General Manager District Industries Centre, Deeg Dilkhush Meena along with district administration, police and officials of various departments, distinguished citizens and a large number of general public were present.
