Qatar has temporarily closed the visa on arrival facility for Pakistani citizens. The Pakistani Embassy in Doha has given important information about this on 30 and 31 March 2026. Now people going to Qatar from Pakistan will have to confirm their visa before reaching there. This decision has been taken in view of the increasing regional tension and security situation in the Middle East so that there is no security lapse on the border.
What will those going to Qatar have to do now?
The Immigration Department has clearly said that Pakistani travelers who do not have a pre-approved visa may face difficulty in getting entry. Authorities have advised obtaining a visa before embarking on the journey to avoid any hassles or entry delays at the airport. Earlier, Pakistani tourists used to book hotels and get visa at the airport itself, but now this facility has been completely suspended. The Embassy has said that passengers should check the rules on official websites before booking their flights.
New method for visa and reason for restriction
Now operated by Qatar’s Ministry of Interior Hayya Portal You have to apply for e-Visa online by visiting. This rule has been implemented due to the recent security crisis and tense situations going on in the region. Qatar Airways has also made some changes to its flight schedules in view of the current conflict. It is not yet clear for how long this facility will remain closed, so passengers have been asked to keep watching for official updates. People arriving in Qatar without a valid visa may also be turned away at the immigration counter.
