New Delhi, April 11 (IANS). Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It not only gives energy to the body, but also affects the health and activity of the whole day. Many people eat wrong things in a hurry in the morning, which can prove to be harmful for health in the long run.
According to the National Health Mission, a balanced and nutritious breakfast provides essential vitamins, minerals and fiber to the body. This helps in maintaining energy throughout the day and does not cause fatigue, but if too much salt, sugar and fat items are included in breakfast then it can be harmful for health.
Morning breakfast should be light but nutritious. Due to this, both body and mind remain active throughout the day. Health experts advise to wake up early in the morning and have fresh and homemade breakfast. Avoid outside junk food and packaged snacks as much as possible.
According to experts, these mistakes are common in breakfast. People usually consume high sugar items like tea with added sugar, biscuits, cakes or sweets, fried snacks like samosas, kachoris, paranthas or pakodas etc. Along with high salt snacks like namkeen, chips or pickles, the biggest mistake is to drink only tea or coffee in the morning on an empty stomach and skip the entire breakfast.
These habits can gradually lead to obesity, diabetes, blood pressure and digestive problems. In such a situation, protection is necessary. For this, you can take porridge, oats, semolina pudding and dry fruits for breakfast. Fruits like apple, banana, orange, papaya or seasonal fruits, sprouted grains like moong, gram or fenugreek sprouts, curd, plain curd or fruit yogurt as well as poha, roti-sabzi, 1-2 rotis with low oil green vegetable can be taken as breakfast.
