New Delhi, 18 September (IANS). Unhealthy catering in everyday habits is harming our health. Especially our body is affecting the immunity to fight against diseases. The Ministry of AYUSH recommends a balanced diet, adequate sleep and mental peace as well as regular yoga to keep the immune system strong.
Yoga not only makes the body flexible and strong, but also removes stress by calming the mind. When we do yoga daily, it gives freshness to the body and improves oxygen flow, which strengthens the body from inside. There are some yogasanas that directly help to increase immunity and also strengthen bones and muscles, as well as reduce mental stress.
In Dhanurasana, the body’s posture is formed like a bow. To do this, first lie down on the stomach and bend both your legs backwards. Then hold the feet with the ankles with both hands. Now while breathing, slowly raise the chest and thighs upwards. During this time the direction of your face should be in front. Keep in mind that the body comes in the shape of a bow. Stay in this posture for some time and then gradually come back to normal position. This practice not only strengthens the digestive system but also gives strength to the immune system and new energy is communicated in the body.
Setu Bandhasana is done on the back of the back. To do this, first lie down on the back and bend your knees and rest the legs on the ground. Keep the hands straight near the body. Now slowly raise the waist and back upwards so that the body looks like a bridge i.e. a bridge. Stop a few seconds in this posture and take a deep breath. Then slowly come back down. This asana is especially beneficial for thyroid patients. Also, it improves blood circulation, reduces stress and improves immunity.
To do the tree, first stand upright. Now bend one leg, place the soles of that leg on the thigh of the other leg and make a balance. Then raise both hands up and add in the posture of salutation. Taking a deep breath, stand for some time in this situation. Then gradually come into the normal posture and now repeat the same process with the other leg. This asana teaches to balance the body, straighten the spinal cord and helps to focus. It also gives mental peace and helps in increasing immunity.
