Everyone should find a solution together. It must be understood that whatever the ultimate outcome of the war, it will take years to repair the damage. It is better for everyone to communicate with each other instead of wasting lives, property and resources.
There is a famous old saying about war, it is such a serious issue that it can neither be handed over to senior military officers nor to politicians. The army of any country is always mentally and physically prepared for war, but for the rulers, it is often a part of their political strategy. However, in every situation, it is the common people of the countries involved in the war who have to pay the price. Many such examples can be found in history when there was a fight between two countries due to political reasons, which could have been easily resolved through dialogue. Both world wars can also be included in these examples.
There is no need to tell how many difficulties the common people have to face due to war. Therefore, it has always been said that war does not solve any issue, rather it aggravates the issue. If indeed peace could be established in the world through war, then peace would have been established in every country today after the long war frenzy seen in the twentieth century. But this did not happen. Even today, wars have not become irrelevant, that is why the obsession with war among those in power is not showing any signs of ending. It has been more than four years since the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine started. The world community had not yet recovered from the widespread impact of that war when the Iran versus Israel-America war started. On the last day of February this year, when Iran’s top leaders including Ayatollah Khamenei were killed in the attack on Iran, many war strategists of the world felt that there would be a change of power with the support of the local people and a new era would begin in the country’s politics. This assessment was undoubtedly based on the experiences of the US’s recent campaign in Venezuela, where it succeeded in bringing about an overnight regime change. Perhaps with this intention, America along with Israel made a strategy to attack Iran and execute its plan within two-three days.
In fact, Iran has been an irritant in America’s eyes for a long time. He alleges that Iran has been engaged in developing nuclear power for years, which is a big threat not only to America but also to world peace. Therefore, to stop it, America and Israel carried out rapid bombing in which the entire top leadership of Iran was eliminated in one stroke. But, like in life, even in war, events do not happen according to the fixed script. It has been almost a month since the war started but Iran has not yet surrendered, contrary to American expectations. In fact, it has continuously targeted Israel as well as American military bases and other important places located in Western Asia with the help of missiles and drones, which neither America nor perhaps the Israeli government had anticipated.
After seeing Iran’s reaction, in the beginning days of the war, US President Donald Trump had claimed that this war would end in a maximum of four weeks and a new popular government would come to power in Iran. But in the fourth week, Trump announced a five-day pause in the war, albeit only in the case of attacks on electricity and other civilian infrastructure. In fact, the war has now taken a more gruesome form and not only is there huge destruction in Iran and Israel, those countries of West Asia are also having to bear the brunt of it, where America has maintained military bases for a long time. This is really a matter of concern because the expansion of this war through attacks on Gulf countries is adversely affecting the economic condition of the entire world including India. Iran’s restriction of Hormuz to ‘enemy’ countries has also brought the oil and gas crisis to the fore, the cost of which is being paid even by those countries which have nothing to do with this war. Nowadays even global organizations like the United Nations do not seem capable of intervening and solving such issues. However, its role was more effective during the Cold War.
It is necessary that the war should stop immediately, whatever be its political or immediate reasons. Under international law, everyone should sit together and find a solution. Technology plays a big role in today’s war and Iran’s counter-attack has proved that no country can be taken lightly. It must also be understood that whatever the ultimate outcome of the war, it will take years to repair the damage. It is better for everyone to communicate with each other instead of wasting lives, property and precious resources.
