New Delhi, April 24 (IANS). Bharatiya Janata Party MP Ghulam Ali Khatana on Friday made a scathing attack on Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi continuously indulges in politics of creating ruckus in the Parliament, especially the Lok Sabha, which affects the democratic process.
Speaking to IANS, Ghulam Ali Khatana said, “The issues raised by Rahul Gandhi in his book do not match his own behaviour. The role of the leader of the opposition should be constructive, but Rahul Gandhi is often seen creating disruptions in the Lok Sabha. Parliament is a platform for debate and discussion, but frequent uproar not only affects the functioning, but also leaves public issues behind.”
He said, “The role of the opposition is very important in a democracy, because it makes the government accountable. But if the opposition is limited only to noise and protest, then its purpose becomes weak. Rahul Gandhi often raises such issues, the purpose of which is only to create a political environment and not to find concrete solutions.”
The BJP MP also said that due to frequent uproar in Parliament, the discussion on important bills is affected. He said that many important decisions related to the development of the country are taken in the Parliament, and if work is not done systematically there, it affects the general public.
Khatana also targeted Congress and said that the party needs to introspect. He said that if Congress motivates its leaders to play a responsible role, then the proceedings of Parliament can be more effective.
He also said that the public is now seeing and understanding everything. In a democracy, the public is the biggest judge and they decide which leader lives up to their expectations. Khatana expressed confidence that in the coming times, the public will give priority to such leaders who do positive politics and contribute to the development of the country.
