After cabinet expansion in Bihar, departments were distributed among the ministers. Nishant Kumar was made the Health Minister. Vijay Sinha (BJP) was appointed Agriculture Minister. The cabinet expansion of the Samrat Chaudhary-led government took place on Thursday (May 7). Former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar took oath as minister along with 31 other leaders. Nishant had entered active politics about two months ago, when his father Nitish had announced that he would leave the post of Chief Minister and become a member of Rajya Sabha. Last month, when BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary took over as the Chief Minister, Nishant had initially refused to take the post of Deputy Chief Minister. However, after being persuaded by senior JDU leaders, he finally agreed and joined the cabinet.
