New Delhi, May 19 (IANS). Childhood is a very delicate and sensitive time. Parents often ignore children’s anger, irritability or sadness as stubbornness or mischief, but health experts advise not to ignore some unusual symptoms of children.
According to the National Health Mission (NHM), not every anger is stubbornness. Sometimes it is the child’s silent cry for help. If there is a sudden change in the child’s behavior then it should be taken seriously. In fact, early signs of mental stress, anxiety or depression in children are often visible in physical and behavioral forms. If timely attention is not given, these problems can become more serious in the future.
According to health experts, if children show anger, frustration and other symptoms over everything, then be careful, these can be serious.
Constant frustration: The child feels frustrated again and again or is not interested in doing anything.
Complaints of headache and stomach ache: – Frequent complaint of stomach and headache without any apparent reason.
Increasing irritability: Getting irritated over small things.
Sudden mood change: From happy to suddenly becoming sad or angry.
Anger on every thing: – Getting angry on every small thing or quarrelsome behavior.
The National Health Mission has appealed to parents not to consider these behaviors of children as just mischief. These can sometimes be a sign of pressure at school, problems with friends, discord in the family, or loneliness. Talk openly with children, listen to them carefully and if necessary, consult a child psychologist or counselor.
Experts also say that parents should be the first and best friends of children. Instead of scolding them on small things, try to understand them. If the 6 symptoms mentioned above are visible continuously then do not ignore it. By paying attention in time, many problems of the child can be prevented.
