Mumbai, May 23 (IANS). The political atmosphere has heated up over the indecent remarks made by Congress UP President Ajay Rai on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On this, NCP (SP) national spokesperson Naseem Siddiqui said that unparliamentary language should not be used in politics, but BJP itself is its mother.

While talking to IANS on Saturday, Naseem Siddiqui said, “Unparliamentary language should not be used in politics. This is not a good thing and everyone should avoid it. The level of Indian politics is falling very low, but this trend has been started by the BJP itself. Ever since the BJP has come to power, it has promoted this culture. Even in the Parliament, BJP MPs have used many such indecent words.”

During the same conversation, he also reacted to the stance of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami regarding offering Namaz on the road. He said Namaz is a religious prayer and in every religion people sometimes have to perform religious activities in public places, be it a festival or in a crowded situation.

He said that sometimes people gather on the streets or in public places even during temples and other religious events. In such a situation, it cannot be considered completely wrong. According to him, this is often a situation arising due to lack of space and crowding, and not an act done by anyone’s will.

Naseem Siddiqui further said that it is not right to stop religious faith and everyone should have the right to worship and pray in their own way. He said that in the end everyone has to go to God, hence being too strict in such matters is not appropriate.

He said, “The entire political foundation of BJP is based on opposing Muslims. The day BJP stops opposing Muslims, speaking against Quran, against Islam and against mosques, that day BJP will cease to exist. Therefore, it is not very surprising. In fact, I would say that the kind of steps BJP is taking, they are actually opening the way for the progress of Muslims.”

Apart from this, he also expressed his opinion on the issue of cancellation of registration of more than 31,000 Waqf properties in Uttar Pradesh. He said, “The government has its eyes set on Waqf properties for a long time. Once a property is declared Waqf, it cannot be changed. Waqf means that a person or institution dedicates his property in the name of God or for the society. The government has its eyes on it and wants to take it over.”
