Durg, June 14 (IANS). On the occasion of completion of 12 years under the leadership of the NDA government at the Center and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma held a press conference at the Circuit House in Durg on Sunday. During this, he mentioned the achievements of the Modi government and said that in the last 12 years, India has made significant progress in the fields of development, good governance, security and national pride.
Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become one of the longest serving democratically elected leaders of the country. The Modi government has set new standards in the field of nation building, preservation of cultural values, strengthening national self-respect and internal and external security.
Regarding security arrangements in Naxal affected areas, the Deputy Chief Minister said that earlier the PRD soldiers did not have enough weapons. He had discussed this matter with the Union Home Minister, after which the supply of necessary weapons and resources started within a month. Modern technology and better equipment have also been provided to the soldiers, which has increased the efficiency of the security forces.
On the law and order situation in the state, Vijay Sharma said that good governance has been established in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. Action will be taken against anyone who violates the law. The government will not hesitate in any case and will take action as per law.
Referring to the achievements of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Deputy Chief Minister said that about 12 crore individual household toilets have been constructed across the country. Apart from this, more than 2.5 crore community toilets have also been built. The government has played an important role in making the cleanliness campaign a mass movement.
When asked about his possible role in the West Bengal Assembly elections, Vijay Sharma said that he considers himself an ordinary and disciplined worker of BJP. Whatever responsibility the organization assigns to him, he will discharge it with full devotion. He said that BJP has strengthened its organization in West Bengal and if this had not happened, the political and social conditions there could have been more challenging.
