Ranchi, June 18 (IANS). Tension has increased within the India alliance regarding the voting results of Jharkhand Rajya Sabha elections. The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation accused the Congress of failing to garner the full support of its own MLAs and said major parties should look within themselves before pointing fingers at others.

The party further said that those who are making such statements to save their party or leadership are damaging the credibility of the CPI(ML) and all those MLAs who voted honestly for the Congress candidate. The CPI(ML) termed this as an attempt by the Congress to defame the CPI(ML) and warned that it was damaging the image of the entire India block.
“This is not just an attempt to defame CPI(ML), but an attempt to tarnish the image of the entire ‘India’ bloc,” the party said.
There were reports of cross voting in the recently held Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand, after which Congress had accused its allies including CPI (ML). Responding to these allegations, CPI(ML) Liberation said that Congress should first clean its house.
This dispute between the opposition alliance in Jharkhand is raising questions on the unity of the alliance before the upcoming assembly elections of 2026-27. CPI(ML) Liberation has a strong support base in Jharkhand, especially in tribal and rural areas, and its support is considered crucial for the alliance.
The party clarified that its MLAs voted honestly for the Congress candidate, but the Congress could not keep its MLAs united.
