Dungarpur. Heart-wrenching news has come out from Dungarpur district of Rajasthan. Here a tragic accident took place on Sunday morning in Vatrak Anicut located in Badi village of Dhambola police station area. Six children who had gone to take bath in Anicut went into deep water, out of which four children died due to drowning. The deceased include three real brothers and sisters and their maternal sister. The villagers showed courage and rescued two children safely, who have been admitted to Simalwada Hospital for treatment. According to the police, at around 10 am on Sunday morning, six children resident of Badi village had come to Anicut to take bath. While bathing, all the children went into deep water. The villagers present on the spot immediately launched a rescue operation and pulled out two children safely, while four children died due to drowning in water.
In the accident, Babusingh Damor’s elder daughter Hina (24), son Prateek (20) and younger daughter Ishita (15) died on the spot. Cousin sister Raunak (20), who had gone to take bath with them, and daughter of Gautam Bhai Parmar, resident of Palanpur, also lost their lives due to drowning.
Rajveer son of Kohra Damor and Jaisingh son of Suresh Damor who were injured in the incident were taken out in time by the villagers and taken to Simalwada Hospital, where their treatment is going on.
As soon as the information was received, Dhambola police station reached the spot and took possession of the four bodies and kept them in the mortuary of Simalwada Hospital. Police have started necessary action. The death of four children of the same family has spread a wave of mourning in the entire area including Badi village.
