On Friday, a meeting was held between the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and the government at the Constitution Club in Delhi. The government was represented by Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh, while the CJP was represented by Saurav Das and Ashutosh Deepak. The meeting lasted from 12:40 pm to 2:20 pm. Earlier, the talks held at the residence of Union Minister JP Nadda on July 20 were inconclusive. The details of the talks between the two parties have not been made public yet. Before the meeting, the CJP said that the government was under pressure on him, due to which the PM had to release a video at 12:30 pm. They pledged to continue their protest until the resignation of the Education Minister. Late Thursday night, PM Modi released a video saying that the government will bring a law to stop paper leaks. Meanwhile, DMRC has closed 18 metro stations including New Delhi till further orders.

Centre’s plan to stop paper leaks amid NEET controversy: 10 years in jail and ₹10 crore fine – sources

Media sources say that under the proposed legal amendments, both jail sentences and fines for those involved in paper leaks may increase. Those involved in the paper leak can face up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to ₹10 crore. Currently, if found guilty in a paper leak case, the punishment can be 3 to 5 years in jail and a fine of up to ₹10 lakh. Under the existing law, if service providers fail to report information about a potential crime, they can be fined up to ₹1 crore. In cases involving organized crime, the punishment can be 5 to 10 years in jail and a fine of at least ₹1 crore. The amendment bill is expected to be introduced in the Lok Sabha on Monday after getting Cabinet approval.

This protest is not limited to Sonam Wangchuk or Deepak: Abhijeet Deepak
Cockroach Janata Party’s founding president Abhijeet Deepak said that nothing less than the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan would be acceptable to him. The protest will not end. This protest is of the youth of the country and is not limited to Sonam Wangchuk or Ladakh only. This protest is of the youth of the country, not of the opposition parties. If the government wants a solution to this protest, then Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is the only solution. I believe the government detained Sonam Wangchuk. While JP Nadda was able to meet him, no opposition MP could meet him; We too could not meet him. I am very happy that Sonam ji has ended her hunger strike.
