The Honda CB500 is powered by an all-new 501cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine. This engine generates maximum power of 27 hp and peak torque of 43.3 Nm. A 5-speed gearbox is available with it. The power output may not be very high for this engine capacity, but Honda has designed it keeping in mind good low-end torque and comfortable daily riding. Its 43.3 Nm torque is considered close to many big twin-cylinder motorcycles. The new CB500 will slot in above the company’s CB350 series and will attract customers who want a reliable bike with a big engine along with classic styling.
Retro design and modern features
Talking about design, the classic retro roadster style is seen in CB500. It has a large teardrop fuel tank, round LED headlight, ribbed single-piece seat and simple tail section. Its design is quite similar to the CB350, but the bigger engine gives it more powerful road presence. For suspension, telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers have been provided at the rear. The company will launch Honda CB500 in three variants. The base model will get alloy wheels, while the other variants will get cross-spoke tubeless wheels.
