A 23-year-old man of Indian origin in London has been sentenced to 8 months in jail for spitting on the police and falsely calling himself a Corona positive patient. Karan Singh, from Croydon, south London, was convicted of several counts including assaulting emergency workers, disorderly conduct and possession of prohibited drugs following a hearing at Croydon Crown Court.
In fact, on March 14, when police officers were patrolling without uniform, they saw Singh sitting in a car in Croydon. They identified him as someone who had been disqualified from driving, so they went to the car and spoke to him. Singh denied that he had been disqualified and said he had got his license back.
While officers were talking to Singh, they smelled the odor of cannabis coming from him and from inside the car. After this, when the officers asked him about the foul smell, he said that he was consuming cannabis. He was then arrested for drug possession and taken to a police station in South London, where during questioning he misbehaved with the officers and refused to be locked up. During this, he spit on the face of an officer and told him that he was infected with Corona virus.

After this, Singh was interrogated again inside the lock up, in which he admitted to spitting on the officer’s face and lying about being infected with Corona virus.

Britain’s Health Minister Matt Hancock announced the plan at the daily press conference at Downing Street (the official residence of the Prime Minister) on Monday.
“No amount of money can compensate for the loss of a loved one,” Hancock said. The government is making every possible effort to help the bereaved families. He said, “I am fully aware of my responsibility that we have to take care of their (health workers’) loved ones.” Hancock said that as a government, they are also thinking about other professionals who are also providing their services during the Corona virus infection and they have no such plan. The government is also considering its need.
