MG Majestor will get a 2.0 liter twin-turbo diesel engine, which will generate power of 213 bhp and torque of 478 Nm.
MG Motor India is preparing to launch its new flagship SUV ‘Majestor’ in India on 12 February 2026. This SUV will top the company’s domestic product range and further strengthen MG’s presence in the full-size SUV segment. Magister will compete directly with SUVs like Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian.
MG showed the Majestor publicly for the first time at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, where the company introduced three production-ready vehicles for India. Along with the Magister, MG also showcased the Cyberster and M9, which have been on sale through premium MG Select dealerships since late last year.
MG Magister has been spotted testing on Indian roads several times. This SUV will not replace the Gloster, but will be positioned above it and will be presented with a more premium and aggressive look. The Magister is based on the Maxus D90 platform with a body-on-frame architecture already in use in several international markets.
In terms of design, many changes have been made to differentiate Magister from Gloster. At the front, it gets a dark finish grille, sharp LED DRLs and vertical LED projector headlamps. New bumpers, skid plates and a more rugged stance give it a more powerful look. The side profile sees 19-inch twin-spoke alloy wheels, thick black cladding, raised wheel arches and blacked-out treatment on the roof and pillars. At the rear, the 7-seater SUV comes with new taillamp design, embossed ‘Majestor’ badging on the tailgate, new bumper and dual exhaust setup.
The MG Magister will be powered by the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine that is also offered in the Gloster. This engine produces power of about 213 bhp and torque of 478 Nm and will also be available with automatic gearbox. Apart from this, it will also be provided with optional four-wheel drive (4WD) system.
Talking about the cabin, the Magister is likely to get a more premium and feature-loaded interior than the Gloster. It includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12-speaker premium audio system, MG’s iSmart connected car technology, powered front seats with ventilation and massage functions, panoramic sunroof, three-zone automatic climate control and level-2 ADAS for safety, Advanced features like 360-degree camera are expected.
