Volkswagen Taigun will get updates in the exterior and interior, and a new 8-speed automatic gearbox can also be added to it.
Volkswagen India has revealed the first glimpse of the updated Taigun and confirmed that the SUV will be launched in India on April 9, 2026. This will be the company’s second big launch this year after Volkswagen Tiguan R Line. The new Taigun will see many updates in design, interior and features, although the engine options will remain the same.
Talking about design, the new Taigun will get more sharp and raised body lines, which will make its look more bold and premium than before. It will be based on MQB A0 IN platform only. The teaser shows new LED taillamps, which are connected to an LED light strip.
Apart from this, updated LED headlights, illuminated Volkswagen logo and DRL strip are also likely to be available. Features like new alloy wheels as well as roof rails and rear spoiler will remain intact, while mild changes will be made to the front and rear bumpers.
Many updates will also be made in the interior. It will get new and more premium upholstery. Talking about the features, features like a large 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), ventilated and powered front seats and dual-pane sunroof can be added to it.
Apart from this, a new compressor can be given to improve the cabin cooling and the rear seats are also likely to get massage function, as seen in the recently updated Skoda Kushaq. Talking about the engine, it will continue to be available with 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine (115 hp, 178 Nm) and 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine (150 hp, 250 Nm) as before. Along with this, a new 8-speed automatic gearbox can also be added.
