MG Motor India sold a total of 62,591 electric vehicles in India during FY26 (April 2025 to March 2026), compared to 37,730 units in FY25. In this way, the company has registered a strong growth of 66 percent on year-on-year (YoY) basis. In March 2026, the company sold 6,528 units, which is 19 percent more than last year. The company has also confirmed that it will launch its first PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) in India in August–September 2026 (before Diwali).
MG Windsor has emerged as India’s best-selling electric car. Interestingly, 70 per cent of its total sales came from non-metro cities, while big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai contributed 30 per cent. An annual increase of 20 percent has been recorded in the sales of this SUV in March 2026.
MG Windsor is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (plus ₹3.9/km BaaS model). It has power of 134 bhp and torque of 200 Nm. The SUV comes with two battery options 38 kWh and 52.9 kWh (PRO variant), which offer a driving range of 332 km and 449 km respectively. The first time buyer also gets lifetime battery warranty on it.
Talking about the design, it is based on the ‘AeroGlide’ theme and has ‘Aero Lounge’ seats that tilt up to 135 degrees and a large 15.6-inch GRANDVIEW touchscreen. Features like V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) have been provided in the PRO variant, with the help of which external devices can be powered and energy can be shared with other EVs.
The PRO variant is priced at Rs 18.10 lakh (ex-showroom) and received over 8,000 bookings within 24 hours of its launch in May 2025. It has 12 features of Level 2 ADAS, powered tailgate and new color options like Celadon Blue, Aurora Silver and Glaze Red.
Recently, the company has announced an increase of up to 2 percent in the prices of its ICE and EV models from April 1, 2026, due to rising costs. Additionally, the MG SELECT portfolio which includes flagship models like MG Cyberster and MG M9 will also see a price increase of up to 7 percent.
