Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel bike can run on ethanol mixed petrol ranging from E20 to E85 and its price has been kept at Rs 1.24 lakh (ex-showroom).
Yamaha India has today launched its first flex fuel motorcycle FZ Blue Flex in the Indian market. Its ex-showroom (Delhi) price has been kept at Rs 1.24 lakh. Customers can book it on the official website of Yamaha by paying a token amount of Rs 2,000. This bike can run on ethanol mixed petrol ranging from E20 to E85. This is Yamaha’s first flex fuel bike in India. Recently the Indian government has promoted E20 petrol. This will reduce general petrol consumption and will also help in reducing pollution.
The design of the new Yamaha FZ Blue Flex has been kept the same as the regular FZ. It has full-LED projector headlamps, integrated position lights, muscular fuel tank, faux air vents, compact exhaust, single-piece seat and LED taillight. For suspension, telescopic front forks are available at the front and swingarm suspension at the rear. Currently it has been launched in Metallic Black color.
Initially, Yamaha will sell this bike through its selected Blue Square dealerships in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. It has a 149cc air-cooled, fuel-injected engine, which generates power of 11.5 bhp and torque of 12.8 Nm. A 5-speed gearbox is provided with the engine.
On the occasion of the launch, Yamaha Motor India Group Chairman Hajime Aota said, “It is not right to depend on only one technology to reduce pollution in the future. Therefore, along with electric vehicles, the company has also brought new technology like Blue Flex. This step is in line with the biofuel policy of the Government of India. He says that Yamaha aims to provide better, modern and environment-friendly vehicles to the customers.”
Talking about the features, FZ Blue Flex has Bosch’s single-channel ABS with front and rear disc brakes. It has an LCD digital instrument cluster, which shows speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and other important information. Apart from this, features like side-stand engine cut-off, 140 mm wide rear radial tire and engine cowl are also provided in the bike.
If customers wish, they can also purchase LED turn indicators as accessories by paying additional cost. The bike has a two-level seat, which provides a comfortable riding position during long distance rides. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. The total weight of the bike is 139 kg.
