A woman in Patna has accused her ex-husband that despite divorce, he used to force her for sex and beat her badly when she protested. On receiving the complaint, the police took action and arrested the accused husband. The matter is of Gardnibagh police station area.
The husband has demanded that the police investigate the allegations.
The victim woman had lodged a complaint in the police station that her husband Ranjan Kumar had divorced her with mutual consent. But, her ex-husband Ranjan kept harassing her. In her statement to the police, the victim said that Ranjan would forcefully come near her and force her to do ‘dirty things’. When she protested, the accused husband would resort to cruelty and brutality. However, the accused husband claims that his wife has made false allegations against him, hence the allegations should be investigated.
The police was searching for the accused husband for a year. Information about the incident was given to Secretariat DSP-1 Dr. Anu Kumari. He told that fed up of physical and mental torture, the victim had lodged a named FIR at Gardnibagh police station on 14 August 2024. The police was searching for the accused in this rape and torture case for the last one year. After collecting evidence and conducting a thorough investigation, the police arrested the accused Ranjan Kumar from his hideout. DSP-1, Secretariat, Dr. Anu Kumari said that any kind of forced physical interference after divorce by mutual consent is a serious crime. The accused has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
