Asansol. BJP MLA in West Bengal Agnimitra Paul welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Kolkata. During this, he targeted the Mamata Banerjee government for vandalizing the event of footballer Lionel Messi. Speaking to , Agnimitra Paul said that Lionel Messi came to our state and we had to face embarrassment due to the chaos. Mamata Banerjee has talked about arresting the organizer but this was a program organized under your ministry. When Messi came, he was surrounded by the Sports Minister, his family and TMC leaders. Making a scathing attack on the Mamata Banerjee government, he said that people from many parts of the world had bought tickets worth thousands and came to see Messi, but could not even see a glimpse of him. Mamata Banerjee, aren’t you ashamed? After inaugurating the statue, Messi was given a speech for an hour. You people talk about the identity of Bengal and Bengali but today the statue of Vivekananda has become smaller than the statue of Messi.
Agnimitra Paul said that the image of Bengal has been tarnished in the international media. Mamta Banerjee will have to take responsibility for this. The BJP MLA demanded that the money should be returned to those who had purchased the tickets. Arrest the Sports Minister and the Fire Brigade Minister. PM Modi will inaugurate many schemes. PM Modi means upgradation, BJP means development and that is why PM Modi is coming to West Bengal. He said that when our government comes to power in West Bengal in 2026, we will bring development by taking everyone along, whether Hindu or Muslim. Agnimitra Paul supported RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s call for Hindu unity in the national interest.
He said that he was absolutely right. India will show the way to the whole world. India has to be decorated like a house, that is why PM Modi is arranging a house for every poor. We have to move forward taking everyone along.
