Ghaziabad, May 31 (). Asad, the main accused who was absconding in the case of stabbing of 17-year-old Surya Pratap Chauhan in Khoda area of Ghaziabad police station, was killed by the police during an encounter late on Saturday night.
In the joint action of Khoda police station and Indirapuram police, criminal Asad, carrying a reward of Rs 50 thousand, was injured in the retaliatory firing of the police, who was taken to the hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. During this time, a policeman was also injured by the bullet, whose treatment is ongoing.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (City/Trans Hindon) Dhawal Jaiswal said that on May 28, Asad and his associates had attacked Surya Pratap Chauhan with a knife in Khoda area. Seriously injured Surya was admitted to the hospital, where he died during treatment.
After this incident, an atmosphere of tension and anger was created in the entire area. Local people and various Hindu organizations had also protested demanding immediate arrest of the accused. Five accused were named in this case. Immediately after the incident, the police arrested three accused, while the main accused Asad was absconding. Several police teams were formed for his arrest and a reward of Rs 50,000 was also announced on him.
According to DCP Dhawal Jaiswal, the police had received information that Asad was preparing to leave the area after taking money from some of his associates. Based on the information, the police carried out an intensive checking campaign by barricading many places. Meanwhile, Asad was seen coming on a motorcycle with one of his companions. When the police tried to stop him, he started firing on the police team.
The police retaliated, in which Asad was seriously injured by the bullet. His accomplice took advantage of the opportunity and fled, in search of whom the police is conducting an operation. Injured Asad was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
