Jaipur, April 24 (). A sensational case related to Rahul Meena, a resident of Rajgarh in Alwar district of Rajasthan, has come to light, in which online Ludo gambling is being considered an important link. Police investigation has revealed that mutual enmity between the accused and his friend after losing huge amount of money in online gaming and gambling, financial constraints and a feeling of revenge gave rise to this heinous crime.
Alwar SP Sudhir Chaudhary told that preliminary investigation revealed that both the accused Rahul and the victim’s husband were involved in online Ludo gambling and had lost a lot of money in it. This financial pressure and personal stress is being considered as the main reason for the case.
According to the police, the accused Rahul Meena (19) first raped his friend’s wife in Alwar and after reaching Delhi a few hours later, he murdered the 22-year-old daughter of an IRS officer. There was a gap of about 7-8 hours between the two incidents.
Investigation has also revealed that the accused had earlier worked as a domestic help in Delhi, but was fired from the job due to financial irregularities. After this he returned to his village in March.
On April 21, the accused had gone to a wedding with his friend. He came out from there making an excuse and later allegedly committed the rape. After this, he reached Delhi via Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and entered the officer’s house on the morning of 22 April and committed the murder.
Police said that the accused was familiar with the daily routine of the house and the knowledge of the keys, of which he took advantage. After the incident, he fled with cash and jewellery, which were later recovered.
In the CCTV footage, the accused is seen entering and exiting the house. The police have arrested him and the case is being investigated by a joint team of Delhi and Rajasthan Police.
The investigating agencies are also trying to find out whether the accused’s addiction was limited to online gaming and gambling or whether other people are also involved in it.
