Gautam Buddha Nagar. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a detailed review of the preparations for the proposed Foxconn Semiconductor Park project in the Yamuna Development Authority area. This ambitious project is being developed on about 48 acres of land in Sector-28, E-01, the estimated cost of which is said to be around Rs 4000 crore. This will be the first semiconductor park of Uttar Pradesh, through which the state will move towards creating a new identity in the industrial and technical sector. During the review meeting, the Chief Minister gave clear instructions to the officials that the project should be developed in accordance with modern technology, global quality standards and time-bound planning. He said that semiconductor industry is the basis of the future economy and investment in this sector will give new strength to the state at the national and international level. The Chief Minister also said that this project will open new doors for investment in the state and give impetus to industrial activities in the surrounding areas including Gautam Buddha Nagar.
Under the project, about 3000 people are likely to get direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to give priority to the local youth and connect them with skill training so that they can get better opportunities in this cutting-edge industry. He also asked to ensure that all environmental and technical standards are strictly followed in the implementation of the project.
Chief Executive Officers of the three development authorities, Police Commissioner, District Magistrate and senior officers of the concerned departments were present in the meeting. The officials informed the Chief Minister about the preparations related to land development, infrastructure, power supply, water management and security arrangements.
The establishment of the Semiconductor Park is expected to play an important role in developing the Yamuna Authority area as an emerging electronics and hi-tech manufacturing hub. This project will also strengthen the vision of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Self-reliant India’.
