New Delhi. The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), which has been protesting at Jantar Mantar in the capital Delhi since June 20, has suffered a major setback. Regarding the proposed Parliament march on July 20, Delhi Police has said that CJP does not have permission. New Delhi DCP Sachin Sharma said that no permission has been given for the alleged march of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) to Parliament on July 20. He further said that Section 163 of the BNS is in force and protests can be held only with prior permission at the designated site of Jantar Mantar. He has clarified that no application by CJP seeking permission to take out the march has been received by Delhi Police nor has any permission been given.
He said that under the prohibitory orders, gatherings of five or more persons, protest marches or demonstrations, except at the designated protest site at Jantar Mantar, are completely prohibited. Parliament session is also starting from tomorrow. Therefore, elaborate security arrangements will be made to ensure public safety, security and protection of important government establishments.
He said legal action would be taken against anyone violating the orders. CJP has announced a march to Parliament on July 20. Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was on hunger strike at Jantar Mantar yesterday, was admitted to the hospital by the police. After this, now CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke is on hunger strike.
CJP is going to march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament tomorrow i.e. on Monday, but Delhi Police has made it clear that CJP has not received permission to march.
