Lucknow . An FIR has been filed against Samajwadi Party leader IP Singh for calling Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath a ‘dacoit’. The complainant has accused IP Singh of tarnishing the image of the government and disturbing harmony. Samajwadi Party leader IP Singh shared an AI video on social media platform ‘X’. This AI video was of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Referring to some media reports, the video showed CM Yogi dancing as ‘Rahman Dacoit’. The SP leader wrote in the post, “The dacoit who swallowed the reservation of PDA class in 9 years.” After this, a person named Dharam Singh lodged a complaint against the SP leader at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow. Acting on this, the police have registered a case against the SP leader under several sections of the IT Act and BNS.
Dharam Singh wrote in his complaint, “Baseless facts are being made viral along with the edited photo of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This act has been deliberately posted on social media with the aim of tarnishing the image of the government and creating hatred against different classes and castes, disturbing harmony and disturbing peace etc. My sentiments and those of lakhs of people of Uttar Pradesh have been hurt by watching such objectionable videos. This is likely to create unrest, hatred and enmity among the people. There is a strong possibility.”
He demanded that an FIR should be registered in the matter and strict action should be taken against the culprits.
However, this incident came to light at a time when posters were put up in Lucknow calling Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav as ‘Rahman Dacoit’. In these posters, Chief Minister Yogi was described as ‘Dhurandhar’. Angered by this, Samajwadi Party workers later tore those posters.
