Big brands like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Mahindra, Kia, Renault and Nissan are preparing to launch new models one after the other. These will include petrol, diesel and electric SUVs. Tata’s electric SUV
Tata Motors is paying a lot of attention to electric vehicles. In fiscal year 2026, the company will launch the Tata Sierra EV and the all-new Punch EV. After this, Avinya range will be launched at the end of the year, which will be Tata’s premium electric SUV. Sierra EV can be offered with two battery options, whose range will be more than 500 kilometers. Changes will be seen in both the design and interior of Punch EV. Avinya, on the other hand, will be based on JLR’s EMA architecture and will be considered the most premium EV.
New Renault Duster and Nissan Tecton
Renault has confirmed that the new generation Duster will be launched in India on January 26, 2026. This SUV will be built on the CMF-B platform and will initially come with a petrol engine option. Its design and interior will be more modern than before. The Renault Duster-based Nissan Tecton may also arrive in the Indian market in early 2026. Both these SUVs will compete with Creta and Seltos in the mid-size segment.
Electric entry of Maruti Suzuki E Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is entering the EV segment for the first time with its all-electric SUV, the E Vitara. This SUV will be based on the new Heartect-e platform. It will have 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery options. With a larger battery, its range can be up to 543 kilometers. This SUV has also received a 5-star rating from India NCAP.
Mahindra XUV 7XO and Vision S
Mahindra is going to launch a new version of its popular XUV700, named XUV 7XO. It will have a new design and a premium cabin with triple screens. Apart from this, the production version of Vision S may also arrive by the end of 2026, which will be a smaller but more powerful SUV than the Scorpio-N.
Hyundai Compact EV and New Kia Seltos
Hyundai will launch its first locally made compact electric SUV in 2026, which may be based on the global Inster. Meanwhile, the prices of the new generation Kia Seltos will be announced on January 2, 2026. Kia may also introduce the Sorento Hybrid next year.
