Ahmedabad/Patna. A person accused of threatening to kill Bihar’s newly appointed Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary was arrested by the Sanand police team from Ahmedabad on Friday. The officers provided this information. The accused has been identified as 32-year-old Shekhar Yadav. The investigators caught him from Sanand-Kadi Road after tracking his location based on mobile surveillance and intelligence. Police said the case was initially registered on April 15 at Sangrampur police station in Bihar’s Munger district, where the newly appointed chief minister had received a death threat call at his office.
The FIR was registered for criminal intimidation and related offenses under sections 351(2), 351(3), 351(4), 352, 353 and 224 of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS), 2023.
Subsequently, Munger district police contacted Ahmedabad rural SP Om Prakash Jat and shared the information as they had learned that the suspect was in Gujarat.
A case was registered at Sangrampur police station in Bihar’s Munger district on April 15 after a man made a threatening call to the office of newly appointed Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Ahmedabad Rural DSP Aastha Rana said.
He further said that success in this case was achieved due to the coordination of both the state police forces. Munger district SP and Ahmedabad Rural SP Om Prakash Jat contacted and shared information regarding the case. It was told that the accused is in Sanand.
A team led by Sanand Police Inspector BT Gohil maintained constant contact with Bihar Police to trace the suspect using technical surveillance and human intelligence.
Officials said the accused lived in Sanand area and worked in a private company engaged in transportation operations.
Rana said the teams caught the man through technical surveillance and human intelligence. His name is Shekhar Yadav and he is 32 years old. He works in a company here and came three-four months ago.
