Lalsot. Medical arrangements at Government Community Health Center (CHC) Shyampura Kalan have collapsed for the last one month. The testing services are completely closed due to the depletion of the reagent (chemical) required for CBC test and the film sheet of the X-ray machine in the hospital. Due to lack of free testing facilities in government hospitals, patients have to resort to private labs, due to which the financial burden is increasing on them.
Expressing concern over the poor condition of the hospital, social worker Shambhu Gokulpura said that OPD of more than 500 patients remains in this CHC every day. On one hand, the government claims free treatment and testing, but even basic materials like necessary chemicals and film sheets are not available on the ground. Due to lack of investigation reports, proper treatment of patients is not being started on time, due to which their lives remain at risk. Due to the halt of testing facilities, the OPD of the hospital is also being affected. Patients from poorer sections, who cannot afford private labs, are now forced to turn to other remote hospitals. Calling it a major negligence of the health department, the villagers have demanded to improve the arrangements as soon as possible.
In this regard, BCMHO Dr. Rajpal Meena admitted that there is a shortage of reagent for CBC test. He said that higher officials (CMHO office) have been informed about this problem. Also, after investigating the reasons for disruption of the X-ray facility, an assurance has been given to provide the film sheets soon and restore the system.
