Simdega, 5 October (). Unknown anti -social elements have vandalized on Saturday night at the famous Baghachandi temple in Kolebira block under Simdega district of Jharkhand. People got angry as the news spread on Sunday morning. Hundreds of people in the area came out on the road and identified the sabotage and demanded action against them. Shopkeepers of Kolebira Bazaar closed their shops to protest against the incident.
Meanwhile, the police have detained a young man in this case. It is being claimed that this has carried out the incident. The priest of the temple, Pancham Singh, said that when he arrived for worship in the morning, the main door of the temple was found broken, the trident was uprooted and thrown out and the lights, gates and worship materials in the premises were also damaged.
He said that the main puja site has also been tampered with and many religious items have been broken, which seems to have tried to disturb the sanctity of the temple. Congress MLA from Kolebira, Wiksal Kongadi, former MLA Vimala Pradhan and leaders of various political parties condemned the incident. The Hindu Brigade has described it as a conspiracy to spoil the harmony of the district.
The organization said that some anti -social elements are trying to spoil the peaceful atmosphere of the district. A few days ago, the church was attacked in the same area and now the temple was vandalized, it is a sign of a deep conspiracy. BJP’s state Ashok Badike said that it is not only on the temple, but a direct attack on faith and culture.
He alleged that neither Sanatani, nor temple nor Sarna site in Hemant government. BJP District President Laxman Badike said that this incident is an attempt to hurt the religious sentiment and the administration should take strict action immediately. As soon as the incident was reported, the senior police officers reached the temple premises and started the investigation. A special team formed on the instructions of Simdega SP M. Arshi has arrested a young man in this case.
The SP said that in the preliminary investigation, the young man’s mentally unwell has been reported, although the police is investigating the entire case seriously.
