Raipur. A sensational murder case has come to light from village Dadhakhar in Kasdol police station area of Balodabazar district of Chhattisgarh. Itwari Ram Paikra, 55, was brutally murdered over old enmity and not voting during Panch elections. Accused Naresh Paikra took his life by hitting him hard on the head with a wooden stick. At the time of the incident, the accused also threatened to kill the witnesses, due to which the case could not be revealed for a long time. The case began on April 7, 2025, when Itwari Ram Paikra was admitted to the District Hospital Balodabazar with a serious head injury. He died during treatment on 8 April 2025. Initially it appeared to be a case of minor injury, but the post mortem report revealed that the deceased died due to a serious blow from a solid object. After this, a case of murder was registered in Kasdol police station. During the investigation, the police inspected the incident site closely and interrogated the relatives of the deceased and the villagers. Initially the witnesses could not give open statements due to fear. Later it was revealed that the accused had threatened the witnesses after the incident. Police investigation found that there was an old enmity between the accused Naresh Paikra and the deceased Itwari Ram Paikra.
There was a dispute over not voting during Panch elections, after which the accused killed him by hitting him on the head with a wooden stick. On the basis of all the evidence and statements of witnesses, the police arrested the accused Naresh Paikra. During interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime and said that he committed the attack out of anger and rivalry and intimidated the witnesses.
Police said that a strong defense will be made in the court in the case and every possible effort will be made to give strict punishment to the culprit. Villagers say that if the dispute had been resolved in time, this fatal incident would not have happened. –
