Jodhpur. A massive fire broke out in an oil paint warehouse and shop in Jodhpur on Thursday night. As soon as the fire broke out, there were continuous explosions in the oil paint drums kept there, which shook the surrounding area. As soon as the information was received, five fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and started trying to control the fire. Considering the seriousness of the situation, a sky ladder vehicle and an Air Force fire brigade were also called.
According to the information, this accident happened at around 9:45 pm in the street of Naturopathy Center located in Chaupasni Housing Board area. Here suddenly a fire broke out in a three-storey shop and warehouse named Ranga Sagar. The fire spread so rapidly that within no time the entire building from the ground floor to the third floor was engulfed in flames. The fire brigade had to retreat several times due to the high flames and repeated explosions caused by burst drums. The smoke in the area became so dense that visibility became extremely low. In view of security, the main road was closed and the surrounding area was evacuated.
The patients admitted in the Naturopathy Center adjacent to the fire were immediately shifted to another block. RAC and additional police forces have also been deployed at the spot to deal with any emergency.
Firefighters are having to struggle a lot to control the fire as flammable substances like oil paint and thinner are continuously fueling the fire. Relief and extinguishing work continued till late night.
The local administration has ordered an investigation into the cause of the fire. According to preliminary estimates, the fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, although this can be confirmed only after investigation.
