New Delhi. Politics has intensified over Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statement of not offering Namaz on the streets. While BJP leaders are supporting the CM’s statement, opposition parties are opposing it. Muslim religious leader has also supported the CM’s statement. Shahi Chief Mufti of Uttar Pradesh, Maulana Chaudhary Ifrahim Hussain supported Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statement, saying his statement was in line with Islamic principles and court orders, as public roads are not meant for prayers. He further said, “CM Yogi Adityanath’s statement that Namaz is not offered on the roads is absolutely correct. High Court orders have already been issued on this matter. It is well known that Namaz is not offered on the roads. It is mentioned in Islam that Namaz is not to be offered at any place which may give rise to controversy, which is public.
Minister Danish Azad Ansari, reacting to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statement, said, “The government issues guidelines. Under the guidance of PM Modi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has worked continuously to ensure the safety and security of minority communities in Uttar Pradesh. We all should follow the guidelines issued by the government. Apart from this, taking the society towards development should undoubtedly be the common agenda of all of us.
In response to another question, he said that different states are working to fulfill the promise made by PM Modi for the development of minority society.
Uttar Pradesh government minister Anil Rajbhar said that roads are for people to walk. If the roads are captured then traffic will be disrupted. Roads are for walking and mosques are for offering namaz. Muslims should offer namaz in the mosque.
