Meanwhile, actor Emraan Hashmi and actress Yami Gautam have come up with one such film ‘Haq’, which is based on the Shah Bano case. During the promotion of the film, Yami Gautam shared her views on feminism and women’s rights.
Yami Gautam has played the role of Shazia Bano in the film. Speaking to , she said that feminism has many meanings today, and she does not completely agree with every type of feminism. She believes that the real meaning of feminism is not to fight with others, but to stand up for yourself and your family.
Talking about the film, Yami said, “If you have the courage to tell a story that is really inspired by a courageous woman, an empowered woman, or a feminist woman, then I think that is a true example of feminism.”
She said that many different forms of feminism have emerged today, and some are not true according to her.
Yami said, “True feminism is not about fighting others or putting anyone down. Instead it is about standing up for your rights, fighting for your children and speaking up for what is right. It is about standing up for your rights and fighting for what is right. This is my point of view.
Talking about the film ‘Haq’, its story revolves around a woman named Shazia Bano, whose husband (Emraan Hashmi) is a renowned lawyer. He marries a second time and leaves Shazia by giving her triple talaq. He also refuses to pay alimony. In such a situation, Shazia knocks the door of the court. During this time he has to face many problems. Society turns against him, and hookah water is discontinued. Whether Shazia finally gets her rights in this fight or not, the answer will be found after watching the film.
