An incident of snatching of purse from a girl has come to light in Scheme No. 2 Lajpat Nagar located in Kotwali police station area of Alwar. According to the information, three bike-riding youths snatched the purse of a girl returning home on foot and started fleeing from the spot. This entire incident has also been captured in the CCTV cameras installed nearby.
The incident happened when the girl, resident of Scheme No. 2, had come to a nearby shop. While returning, as she was walking, three youths who came on a bike suddenly snatched her purse and started running away at high speed. The girl showed courage and started chasing them and also made loud noise.
At some distance, the bike of the accused suddenly slipped, due to which they fell. After this, the three youths left the bike on the spot and started running away on foot. Meanwhile, the local people showed promptness and caught a young man, while the remaining two accused fled from the spot.
The caught youth was immediately handed over to the Kotwali police station. Police reached the spot and detained the accused and took information about the entire incident from the girl. The victim told the police how the incident happened and how the accused snatched her purse.
The police is now busy investigating this case and on the basis of CCTV footage, two absconding accused are being searched. Officials say that based on the interrogation of the arrested youth, the rest of the accused will also be arrested soon.
This incident has created an atmosphere of panic in the area. However, due to the alertness of the local people and the courage of the girl, one of the accused was immediately caught, which helped the police in the investigation. At present, the police have registered the case and further action is underway.
