Mumbai, April 26 (). Many times in the film world, artists and producers spend years of hard work and crores of rupees to make their films successful, but when the same film does not live up to the expectations of the audience, it affects not only the career but also the mental state. There is one such incident related to the famous Hindi cinema actor and director Satish Kaushik, which broke him from within.
This case is related to Satish Kaushik’s film ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’. This film was counted among the most expensive Hindi films of its time. Anil Kapoor and Sridevi were in lead roles in the film. Despite big stars and a huge budget, the film flopped badly at the box office. The film was directed by Satish Kaushik, while it was produced by Boney Kapoor.
During a celebrity chat show ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’, Satish Kaushik had told that after the flop of the film, he was so upset that he did not even have the courage to ask Boney Kapoor how the film was performing at the ticket window.
During this conversation, Boney Kapoor made a shocking revelation. He told that Satish Kaushik was completely broken due to the failure of the film. He became so depressed that he even contemplated suicide.
He said, “Satish was even ready to jump from a moving car. Not only this, even after reaching the hotel, he was talking about jumping from the first floor.
However, during the conversation, Satish Kaushik humorously explained this serious situation by saying that when he was standing on the first floor of the hotel, food was arranged downstairs. In such a situation, a thought suddenly came to his mind that if he jumped down and fell on the food, people would think that he had jumped to eat and not to commit suicide.
The story of the film ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’ was written by famous writer Javed Akhtar. Big actors like Anupam Kher, Johnny Lever and Jackie Shroff were also seen in the film. The film was released on 16 April 1993, but did not live up to expectations at the box office.
