A sensational case of ‘Onor Killing’ has come to light from Morena district of Madhya Pradesh. Here a father allegedly shot and killed his 17 -year -old daughter and threw her body into the Quari river. 5 days after the murder incident, the body of a minor girl was recovered from the river near her ancestral village Ghitha on Sunday.
Case opened on neighbor’s information
Morena Civil Lines Police Station Incharge Darshan Shukla said that accused Bharat alias Bantu Sikarwar was detained on Saturday when one of his neighbors informed the police that the accused’s elder daughter Divya was missing. The neighbor also told the police that he had heard the sound of firing and screaming from Sikarwar’s house four days ago (night of 23-24 September). The incident took place at the house of the accused in Ambah bypass area of Morena city. The deceased was a 12th grade student.
Accused gave a statement to mislead
Police said Sikarwar was upset that his daughter was in love with a boy from another caste. After being detained, Sikarwar initially gave a deferred reply to the daughter’s hideout. However, after making a strong inquiry, he confessed to the murder, but claimed that his daughter died of a roof fan. According to the police, the accused said that four hours after the incident, he threw the body of the daughter into the Quarry river in her ancestral village of Galtha, as she was ‘unmarried’. This statement causes the possibility of ‘onor killing’.
Search and recovery of dead body
Following the information of the neighbor and the confession of the accused, the police on Saturday launched a search operation with the help of SDRF, which had to be stopped due to darkness. The search started again on Sunday and the body of the minor was recovered at around 10 am. Police said that the body was completely packed and tied with stones and shed into the river. The body has been sent to the district hospital for post -mortem and on the basis of the post -mortem report, the police is taking further action against the accused. People in the village are calling it a murder for false glory from the suppressed tongue.
