New Zealand also had to face defeat against South Africa in the group stage, but in the semi-finals New Zealand looked completely different and won a one-sided victory over South Africa.
If we look at the match, New Zealand had won the important toss and decided to bowl. South Africa, who came to bat first, failed to score a big score. With the help of Marco Jansen’s unbeaten 55 runs off 30 balls, South Africa had scored 169 runs for 8 wickets.
Finn Allen and Tim Seifert added 117 runs in 9.1 overs for the first wicket and gave the match to the Kiwi team. Seifert was out after scoring 58 runs on 33 balls, but Allen did not stop. Allen remained unbeaten after scoring 100 runs in 33 balls with the help of 10 fours and 8 sixes. This is the fastest century in T20 World Cup history. On the basis of this stormy century by Allen, New Zealand won the match by scoring 173 runs at the loss of 1 wicket in 12.5 overs and made it to the final.
New Zealand has made it to the final of the T20 World Cup for the second time. Earlier, the team had also played the final of the 2021 T20 World Cup. At that time New Zealand had made it to the finals by defeating England. In the final against Australia, the team captained by Kane Williamson, batting first, scored 172 runs for 4 wickets. Williamson played an inning of 85 runs in 48 balls.
Australia, captained by Aaron Finch, won the match by 8 wickets by scoring 173 runs for 2 wickets in 18.5 overs, thanks to David Warner’s 53 runs and Mitchell Marsh’s 77 runs and won their first T20 World Cup title.
