New Delhi. Telangana Chief Minister A.K. Revanth Reddy announced the state’s ambitious development plans while addressing members of the Public Affairs Forum of India (PAFI) here today.
He said that India Future City will be built in Hyderabad, which will be the best employed urban center in the country based on global standards. The city will develop this city in more than 30,000 acres in the first phase, including nine special zones. These will have AI City, Health Zone, Education Zone, Manufacturing Zone and other modern facilities.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy discussed in detail the “Telangana Rising 2047” vision. He said that by 2034, the state’s economy is targeted to reach 1 trillion dollars and 3 trillion dollars by 2047. For this, the state will be divided into three main zones. The area inside the outer ring road (160 km) will be the core urban zone, where there will be a focus on urban development. The area between the ORR and the new regional ring road (360 km) will be semi-urban as a manufacturing zone, while the rural economy outside the RRR will be strengthened.
Reddy emphasized water and climate crisis, answering panel discussions and listeners’ questions. He told that the future is of those cities that can better manage these challenges. The Telangana is building an urban water grid through the revival of the Mousi River and renovation of lakes and drains.
He said, “Only cities will be able to tick climate risks. We will make Hyderabad the first city in India to deal with problems like drought and urban floods.”
Talking about regional development, Reddy said that the top educational institutions in the world are being contacted to make Hyderabad a knowledge center. These institutes will set up an offshore campus in Telangana. Institutes such as Young India Skills University, YI Sports University and YI Integrated Residential School will focus on education and skill development in the state. Projects like Bharat Future City, Regional Ring Road, Regional Ring Rail, Musi Rejuvenation and Manufacturing Zone will create new jobs.
“We are creating future opportunities. Telangana China +1 will become an alternative manufacturing center of strategy and set new standards for an Indian city,” said Reddy.
During the PAFI conference, Reddy held a bilateral meeting with New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. Both agreed to increase cooperation in software-technology, life science, urban transport and film industry.
Murphy said, “New Jersey and Telangana have many similarities. Together we can revolutionize economies.”
Both emphasized the exchange of trade delegations, increasing investment and generating employment. Murphy promised to support Hyderabad’s public transport through the New Jersey Transit Authority. Reddy thanked Murphy for projects like Metro and MMTS.
The Chief Minister invited the major institutions of New Jersey such as NJITs, Princeton and Rutgars to the offshore campus in Telangana and assured every assistance. It was also agreed to connect the film industry with tourism. After the conference, Reddy met corporate heads and encouraged them to invest.
