Every year, lakhs of devotees flock to the temples of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri in the hills of Uttarakhand to seek darshan and blessings. Nowadays, videos and pictures related to Char Dham Yatra go viral on social media every day; Some people capture and post their entire pilgrimage in video, while some people make pictures and reels and share them. **Tourists were seen dancing on ‘Chaiya Chaiya’ during Char Dham Yatra**

In a viral video, a family is seen dancing and posing for the camera at different places around the temples of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri during their visit. The famous Bollywood song “Chaiyya Chaiyya” plays in the background, and the entire family starts their dance in front of the Yamunotri Temple. The video then moves towards Gangotri, and then comes a portion filmed in front of the Kedarnath temple, where the family shoots the reel. The reel ends at Badrinath, where they perform the last steps of their dance. While some viewers hailed the video, shot amid the beautiful mountain views and holy sites, as a unique way to capture memories, many called it an insult to the sanctity and dignity of these religious temples.

**Debate begins on social media**

The video quickly went viral across social media platforms, prompting a flood of reactions from users. Some users argued that dancing and making videos for entertainment purposes at such holy places was inappropriate. A viral post said that Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri are not just places to visit but are very sacred religious temples. A peaceful and respectful environment should be maintained at such places. The post further said that dancing at these places could be considered against religious traditions.

**Many people came in support of the tourists**

On the other hand, a large number of people also came forward in support of the people seen in the video. He argued that if someone has not created any disturbance, has not broken the queue, has not spread any filth in the temple premises and has simply expressed his happiness, then what is actually wrong in it? Some commentators have commented that pilgrimage is not limited to mere rituals and ceremonies; In fact, it is also an opportunity to create fond memories that will last a lifetime. In this context, celebrating with your family and capturing those memories on camera should not be considered wrong.
