Nowadays—be it shopping, bill payment, or online spending—credit cards come in handy everywhere. Cashback cards, in particular, have become the first choice of people because they offer small benefits on every transaction. However, if you use SBI Cashback Credit Card, now you need to be a little careful. From April 1, 2026, some important rules related to this card are going to change, which will have a direct impact on the cashback and rewards you get. Whereas earlier there was good profit on every expenditure, now a limit has been imposed on those earnings. As a result, if you continue to use the card without knowing about these changes, you may lose money.

Change in cashback limit
The biggest change related to SBI Cashback Credit Card is regarding the cashback limit. Previously, you could earn a maximum cashback of up to ₹5,000 in a single statement cycle; But now this limit has been reduced to ₹ 4,000. This means that you will now get less benefits than before. If you are a big spender, this change will have a direct impact on your savings.

**Before:** Maximum cashback up to ₹5,000
**Now:** Maximum cashback up to ₹4,000
**Total Benefit:** Approximately 20% reduction
**Effect:** The savings of those who spend more will reduce.
**New Rule:** Irrespective of the total spend, cashback will be credited only up to the prescribed limit.
In other words, no matter how much you spend, the benefits associated with it will be limited to a certain extent; Therefore, it is more important now than ever to plan your spending and card usage.

Change in cashback limit for online and offline transactions
Although there has been no change in the cashback rate on credit cards, now a special limit has been set for it. Whereas earlier, if you spent more, you would get more benefits, now a limit has been imposed on each category of expenditure. This means that your total cashback will no longer exceed a certain limit. Online Spend: 5% Cashback
Online Limit: Maximum ₹2,000
Offline Spend: 1% cashback
Offline Limit: Maximum ₹2,000
Total cashback: Maximum ₹4,000 per month
Now, whether you spend more online or offline, the total cashback you get cannot exceed ₹4,000. This means that the benefits are now limited to these limits, and the earlier opportunity to earn without any restrictions will no longer apply.

New way to redeem reward points
Along with cashback, changes have also been made in the rules related to reward points. You will no longer be able to redeem your points for any desired amount. From April 1, points can be redeemed only in multiples of Rs 4,000. Additionally, a maximum of 60,000 points can be redeemed in a month.

How to redeem reward points?
The method of redemption is the same as before; There has been no change in this process. To redeem your points, you have to use the SBI Card App.

Log in to SBI Card App.
Go to ‘More’ option below.
Open the ‘Rewards’ section.
Click on ‘Redeem’ option.
Select the voucher or product of your choice.
Check out and complete the redemption process.
