The month of September is over and October 2025 has started. With the beginning of this new month, many major changes have been brought, which are being implemented from the first day i.e. October 1, 2025. On the one hand, oil companies have shocked the customers by increasing the prices of LPG cylinders, on the other hand the rules related to UPI have also changed. The effect of these changes is going to be seen on every house and every pocket. Let’s take a look at five such big changes …

The beginning of October starts every month with many big and big changes with changes and these include financial changes. The month of October has also started in a similar way and a lot has changed from the first date for the common man to UPI users and passengers traveling from Indian Railways. While the increase in LPG prices in the festive season has shocked the customers, the Indian Railways has also changed the rules related to online booking of train tickets, which is going to affect the railway passengers.

First change: LPG cylinder has become expensive, in the changes to be held from October 1, people have the most eye on changes in the prices of LPG cylinders, as it is directly related to the kitchen budget. Let us know that in the last few months, oil marketing companies had cut the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinder, but it has been increased on the very first day of October and it has become expensive from Delhi to Mumbai.

According to the IOCL website, the price of cylinders in Delhi has been increased by Rs 15 and it will be available for Rs 1595 instead of Rs 1580. At the same time, the price in Kolkata has increased from Rs 1684 to Rs 1700. The 19 kg cylinder in Mumbai, which was priced at Rs 1531, is now getting Rs 1547, while in Chennai it has increased from Rs 1738 to Rs 1754. However, this time also there has been no change in the price of 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder.

Second change: Air travel can be expensive on the first day of October. The second change is connected to air travelers, as companies have increased the prices of ATF in the festive season after air fuel cuts in September last year. For information about the new prices to be implemented from 1 October 2025, let us know that its price in Delhi has increased from Rs 90,713.52 per kiloliter to Rs 93,766.02 per kilo.

In Kolkata, now its price has been increased from Rs 96,816.58 instead of Rs 93,886.18, in Mumbai, instead of Rs 84,832.83, it has increased from Rs 87,714.39 per kiloliter and in Chennai from Rs 94,151.96 per kiloliter to Rs 97,302.14. Explain that the price of air turbine fuel will increase the operational cost of the airlines, due to which they can increase the price of flight tickets.

Third change: Only such passengers online tickets are going to be implemented for railway passengers. In fact, Indian Railways had announced a change in rules from October 1, 2025 with the aim of preventing fraud in train ticket booking, which can be implemented from today. Under this, only such people will be able to book tickets online in the first 15 minutes after opening the reservation, whose Aadhaar Verification has been done. This rule will apply to both IRCTC website or app. Currently, this rule is applicable to immediate booking. Whereas, no changes have been made for those who buy tickets from computerized PRS counters.

Fourth Change: This rule related to UPI is also starting with a big change for Unified Payment Interface or UPI users. The National Payments Corporation of India i.e. NPCI shared information in a circular issued on July 29 that Peer-to-Pier (P2P) collecting transactions are being removed from the most used UPI features and it is going to be implemented from October 1, 2025. To prevent financial fraud by strengthening user security, this feature is being removed from the UPI apps.

Fifth changes: Bumper holidays in banks are full of October festivals and if you have any necessary work related to the bank, then first of all, the October Bank Holiday List released by the Reserve Bank of India leave the house, lest you reach the bank and get a lock.

In fact, the month will begin with the holiday of Durga Puja and then there are 21 holidays including Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, Dussehra, Lakshmi Puja, Maharishi Balmiki Jayanti, Karva Chauth, Diwali, Govardhan Puja, Bhaiduj and Chhath Puja throughout the month. These include the second and fourth Saturdays as well as Sunday’s weekly holidays. However, these bank holidays may vary from different states and cities.
