The rising trend in gold prices has stopped. It declined on the morning of 27 February. In the capital Delhi, the price of 24 carat gold fell to ₹161,820 per 10 grams. This price remained at ₹161,010 per 10 grams in Mumbai. A day earlier, gold prices had fallen by ₹1,300, or about one per cent, to ₹1,62,900 per 10 grams in the Delhi bullion market. Gold prices fell in the domestic market due to weak international gold prices and profit-booking by traders. The spot price of gold in the international market is $5,176.21 per ounce.

JPMorgan has raised its long-term forecast for gold prices to $4,500 an ounce. It maintained its forecast for the end of 2026 at $6,300 an ounce. JP Morgan said the trend of structural diversification in gold continues, and there is scope for further growth.

Like gold, the price of another precious metal, silver, also fell on the morning of 27 February. The price has come down to Rs 284,900 per kg. A day earlier, the price of silver in Delhi bullion market had fallen by Rs 7,400 or about three percent to Rs 2,70,500 per kg. The spot price of silver in the international market is $87.28 per ounce. In January, the price of silver had crossed Rs 4 lakh.
